I remember reading not to use goo-gone, only can't seem to recollect what I can use. I also have some stamps that are not SU with blackness foam and tin can't even go that stuff to budge!! I took it to the farthermost though and instead of putting the stamps in the freezer for a little while, I left them overnight. They came off fairly easy one time y'all get 1 office of the stamp lifted. Other people likewise mentioned putting them in the microwave I think for about twenty seconds. Then if it'south withal difficult you lot just keep putting the stamp dorsum in for brusk periods of time until you tin become information technology off the wood. I also used a butter pocketknife to get the postage stamp to lift and found it a handy tool. Skillful luck. |

Sometimes the prophylactic would come up off and leave a thin layer of grey cream but that rubbed off with my thumb too. Thumbs of steel, I have. |

I didn't have to piece of work on them at all. I think the older ones were the stamps that required a little work. I found the longer they were in the freezer the easier they came off. 1 night my married man opened the freezer and all along the shelf there were stamps. He asked me what the heck are stamps doing in the freezer - lol. |

I wouldn't allow your stamps soak in it or annihilation, but it worked like a charm on some that I had already tried microwaving and freezing without any results. __________________ |

Don't want you to have to phone call the burn down section and accept to explicate that you were just trying to unmount some rubber stamps! lol Oasis't tried the freezer merely just might with some foam backed stamps that become ink on the 'open' area and ruin the stamped image. Will cut abroad the excess safety before attaching to Tack ' northward Peel (?). Good Luck- |

| Pearl-Skillful Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Central Wisconsin | When using the microwave, I seem to have better luck if I stick a mug of water in with the stamps - it seems to keep the woods from getting then very hot, and the humidity seems to help the adhesive permit loose a fiddling better. __________________ |

I could meet my DH maxim the aforementioned thing!! How funny! Also looks like I volition accept to give my thumbs a work out! Half of my stamps are still on the foam with A.T.I.O.O. and I remember eventually I will finish those off to the blank condom as well. (This is how I beginning started my un-mounting process. Never realized really how many different ways you tin exercise it!!) Then much easier I call up to take them downwards to the rubber and utilise the tack n peel on the blocks.) Thank-you fellow stampers for your help! Your the all-time! |

I put them into the freezer overnight and they came off the blocks and left the safe cream on the block. The only problem was there was a layer of glue on the dorsum of the rubber still. I tried cleaning it off using Dawn liquid soap but information technology was withal at that place. I then dried the stamps and began picking at the gum and slowly at start I got a small area clean of glue. I and so rubbed my thumb over the glue and information technology began to peel dorsum, albeit in clumps and slowly. I at present have all the stamps done except one which is existence very stubborn. This particular stamp was glued with the rubber directly to the wood... no foamy layer. I'll keep trying on this i. I did all this later watching a video from Purple Onion. See "Using Unmounted Stamps" at this website for some swell ideas. WWW.STORES.PURPLEONIONDESIGNS.COM" |

I just tackled this final week when I needed to replace the EZ-Mountain backing on a cling postage stamp. I used 91% rubbing alcohol offset, but it was even so taking more endeavor than I cared for. I switched to rubbing the back with Goo Gone .... shazam! (Pssst! Let it lay on the glue for a minute.) Since I used alcohol and orange oil on the rubber, I just followed up with a quick bath of Dawn & warm h2o for safety kindness. |
